The Onto The Next Institute, Inc.,  a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to “promoting holistic wellness in aging through educational awareness to minimize risks of dementia and Alzheimer’s, presents “Dancing Defies Dementia” from 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Willie Galimore Center, 399 Riberia St.  A local DJ will spin oldies and dance tunes. Come single or bring friends.  Cost is $7per person or $10for you and a friend.  Kids under 12 years are free. Door prizes will be part of the evening’s festivities for this alcohol-free dance party for boomers and seniors of all ages.

A 21-year study at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, NYC, revealed almost none of the typical physical activities appeared to offer any protection against dementia and Alzheimer’s, except frequent dancing!
