RareSong Three will present a concert of early English Christmas carols on Sunday, December 16, at 3 p.m. at the St. Augustine Art Association, 22 Marine St., downtown St. Augustine.
RareSong Three is a versatile musical trio consisting of singers, harpsichord, recorders and violas da gamba. The group is part of a larger ensemble, RareSong, which brings the past to life through beautiful music, costumes and drama. Founded in 2015, the ensemble has presented concerts throughout Northeast Florida.
“The warm spirit of Christmas can reach across the centuries through our songs and dances,” said Patricia DeWitt, music specialist and soprano for the group. “We’re excited to celebrate the music of the European colonists during this festive holiday season.”
Other members of the group include Peter DeWitt, harpsichordist and tenor, and Marcy Brenner, an Oberlin music graduate who plays viola de gamba.
The St. Augustine Art Association is located at 22 Marine Street. Parking downtown on Sundays is FREE. The musical performance is open to the public. A goodwill offering at the door is appreciated. Call 904-824-2310 for reservations.
