Vilano Beach Main Street, Inc. will host the first Dish N Fish culinary event in the Vilano Beach Town Center on April 16 from 2 to 8 pm. Dish N Fish is a new culinary tourism event which is a collaborative fundraising partnership with the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association (FRLA), and Vilano Beach Main Street to raise awareness of the coastal community and area dining benefits for visitors and residents.
From 3 to 5 pm a Chef Competition among High School Culinary students (ProStart Program) will be featured. Five teams from around the area will compete under the tutelage of master chefs preparing ceviche recipes. Winning teams will receive school grants and culinary prizes. The Dishes of the Day will feature fish and seafood classics common to Northeast Florida (shrimp, fish and more). 15 food stations will be available for tantalizing taste sensations. Samples will be offered by 10 well known restaurants in the region. A wide variety of beverages will be available from area wine distributors, craft beer makers, and the St. Augustine Distillery. Meals from chef stations will be available for $15. Culinary demonstrators will offer samplings.
The full music line-up of entertainment for afternoon listening includes Amy Hendrickson (2 pm), Dewey Via (3 pm), Sam Pacetti (4 pm), Katherine Archer (5 pm), Smokinâ€™ Joe Schauer (6 pm), and Crawford Boyd (7 pm). The event begins at 2 pm under a large tent in Vilano Beach Town Center across from Publix at 145 Vilano Road. The afternoon will include continuous music from 2 pm til dusk interspersed with raffle drawings and prizes. Arts and culinary vendors will also be on site. Streetside activity centers will be open to the public to include art demonstrations, face painting and other entertainment.

Entry to the event is a $5 donation benefitting FRLA High School Culinary Grants for ProStart students and Vilano Beach Main Street improvement projects.
