The Murray Players (St. Johns County Center for the Arts at Murray Middle School) presented the one-act Asylum by Dennis Bush at the Florida Theatre Conference on Friday, Nov. 13 in Gainesville.

Asylum cast members Isla Calvin, Julia Evans, Alex Mowrey, Isabella Revel were each selected to the All-Star Cast, and Ella Romaine was awarded Best Actress  in the Middle School Division.

The Florida Theatre Conference, Inc. is a non-profit, educational theatre organization founded in 1956 for the purpose of providing programs and services to individuals and group memberships. Its membership is unique, comprehensive, and intended to include all theatre organizations and individuals interested in theatre in the state of Florida.

Ella has been an active member of the St. Augustine theatre community, favorite roles include playing Annie at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre in 2013, present by The Murray Players. Ella has spent time acting and volunteering at the Limelight Theatre, where she has performed everything from an evil child (Rhoda Penmark in Bad Seed, 2013) to Ermengarde in Hello Dolly this past season. In addition to acting, Ella has a strong background in dance and has been singing since she can remember. Ella also loves riding horses and in the summer she is a St. Johns County Marine Rescue Junior Lifeguard.
