The Limelight Theatre Guild suggests leaping into supporting live community theatre by attending the annual Magnolia luncheon fundraiser.
The event will be held Monday, Feb. 29 at Marsh Creek Country Clubfrom 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Providing entertainment will be the Outta Sight band of the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind, the alma mater of music legend Ray Charles.
In addition, guests will enjoy a complimentary mimosa with their meal and can participate in a lucky draw, silent auction and a 50-50 drawing.
“Like the extra day we get each Leap Year, the Limelight gives our community extra value. Â It provides St. Augustine with year-round quality entertainment and does it every year!” said luncheon chair Marian Patrick.
Luncheon helper Carol Barius added, “Our fundraisers help support this nonprofit theatre that annually produces eight plays and more than a dozen children’s plays and programs. The theatre is also the venue for local musicians to perform monthly and where several community groups meet.”
Guild treasurer Sharyn Grace explained, “Ticket sales cover only half of production costs, so the guild is committed not only to volunteer services like ushering but also to fun fundraisers like this luncheon.”
Luncheon tickets are $35 and must be reserved by Feb. 20. For ticket information or for businesses or artists wanting to donate to the silent auction, contact Marian Patrick at 687-4196 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Limelight Guild is an organization of more than 130 men and women who support the theatre through fund raising and volunteer work.
