Command Sgt. Maj. Jeffrey Young will assume responsibility as the Florida National Guard’s Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Adjutant General of Florida during a military ceremony at 2 p.m. May 3 at Patriot Field, St. Francis Barracks, 82 Marine St., the Florida National Guard Headquarters.
Young will replace Command Sgt. Maj. Robert Hosford in this position where he will advise Adjutant General of Florida Maj. Gen. Michael Calhoun on issues affecting the enlisted men and women of the Florida National Guard. Young has served in the military since 1985, and most recently served as the Command Sergeant Major of the 53rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team. He is a traditional Guardsman, and is currently employed by the Miami-Dade Police Department, Homeland Security Bureau, and is detached to the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force in Miramar.
