A food truck “rally†is planned at Flagler College from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 5 to benefit student clubs. The gathering of trucks will offer a wide range of food offerings — from wings to gourmet burgers to Hawaiian-inspired fare. Ten percent of all sales will be donated to the 29 student-run clubs at Flagler.
The event will take place in the Flagler College FEC parking lot at 1 Malaga St. in downtown St. Augustine.
The idea for the rally came from Brendan Schneck, a Flagler College alumnus and owner of the Big Island Bowls food truck. “He really wanted to get involved with the campus and the surrounding community,†said Flagler College senior Kayla Murphy. “So the Food Truck Rally was born.â€
Murphy is the president of Flagler’s student chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the vice president of the student United Way chapter. She is completing an internship this semester in the college’s Office of Student Activities and serves as coordinator of the Food Truck Rally.
“We’ll have at least four trucks on site,†she said. “So far we’re looking forward to hosting Big Island Bowls, Dirty Bird Wings on the Fly, and S.O.S. Diner. There will be at least one other option by next week.â€
The community is invited to visit the Flagler Food Truck Rally. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
