Craft cocktail bar opens second, larger location upstairs at 12 Avenida Menendez
From Manhattans to Mai Tais, Odd Birds Bar has become synonymous with handcrafted classic cocktails made with a bit of flare, a whole lotta love, and enjoyed in some pretty tight quarters. Luckily, the downtown St. Augustine favorite has announced its expansion and new, larger location at Odd Birds Loft, now open and located upstairs at 12 Avenida Menendez.
“Odd Birds Loft offers the same great cocktail experience as Odd Birds Bar, but in a sizable and sophisticated space,” explained co-owner and bartender Cesar Diaz.
“While we always welcome tourists, our passion is catering to locals and creating an eclectic experience for them. Our popular ‘Bartender’s Call’ tradition will continue where guests describe the flavors, spirits, and sweetness level they prefer and our bartenders create personalized cocktails to please their palate.”
Now open Thursday through Saturday nights from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m., Odd Birds Loft offers live music weekly with a focus on jazz, Latin, and Tropical Beats. The new space, which was created by architect Gina Carducci, is also available for private events, weddings, and after-parties with a select menu featuring small bites, charcuterie plates, and unique tapas.
“Since we opened Odd Birds Bar back in 2015 and started our sister restaurant next door, Milagro on 12, to now, when we have added Odd Birds Loft, the community has been amazing and supportive of all of our new endeavors,” said Cesar Diaz of his hospitality business, Odd Birds Group, which he co-owns with Asdrubal Martinez and Shane McFarland.
“We’re looking forward to continuing to bring multi-cultural cuisine and craft cocktails to the Nation’s OldestCity.”
