Joseph Gordy, president of Flagler Hospital, will be speaker for the Aug. 14 gathering of The Marketplace Christian Professional Resources Luncheon at Amici’s Banquet Restaurant, 1915 A1A South. Registration/networking continues from 11:30 a.m. to noon, and the luncheon/leadership lesson is from noon to 1 p.m.

Gordy, who has served as Flagler president since 2003, earned a B.A. from Boston University and an MHA from the School of Medicine and Public Health at George Washington University, Washington, D.C. He is a Fellow of American College of Healthcare Executives.
At Flagler Hospice since 1981, Gordy has been active in the community, elected twice to the St. Johns County School Board and serving as chairman in 1998; as a member of the Dean’s Council for the College of Health at the University of North Florida; he’s a former president of the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the Committee of 100 and a member of the St. Johns County Economic Development Committee
He currently serves on the boards of Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, The Florida Hospital Association and the chamber.
