The St. Augustine Humane Society will host a Nov. 12 fundraiser to help St. Johns County pets and their owners through the many services and programs offered at the non-profit. Included are the low-cost spay neuter and wellness clinic, pet food pantry, dog training, pet grooming and emergency sheltering, among others.
The event is planned from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at Creekside Dinery, 160 Nix Boat Yard. Additionally, the Humane Society’s latest annual pet photo calendar for 2016 will be available for purchase.
Cost for attending the event is $25 per person and includes a low-country buffet dinner and live music by The Falling Bones. Pin Up Paws calendars will be available at $10 each. All donations are tax deductible. For more information, call 904.829.2737. Visit the website at http://www.staughumane.org/getinvolved/eventsandhappenings.html.
The theme of the event is Sit, Stay and Relax which ties in with the calendar fundraiser and photo theme including local pets on their favorite forbidden chairs and accessorized according to the breed or type and period of furniture. This year, the calendar raised more than $15,000 in entries and votes to help the organization. The winning pets are featured in the calendar with professional photos by renowned photographer Addison Fitzgerald who donated his talents to the cause along with local artist Maribel Angel who donated her expertise and graphic design skills to create the calendar’s unique theme.
