Huzzah! A colorful pageant marched down Washington Street rrecently.. Avast, me hearties, it was some of St. Augustine’s finest pirates delivering pizza dinner for the residents of St. Francis House. The three local Crews: Ancient City Privateers, Krewe of 13 and St. Augustine Swashbucklers also brought a bundle of booty (in the form of a check) to assist St. Johns Counties’ only emergency homeless shelter.
After serving dinner, laughter and fun, many from the group toured St. Francis House. Judy Dembowski, the Executive Director of St. Francis House, thanked the pirate captains for their generosity!
Last year, Get Yarrr Pirate On! raised more than $18,000 to help families and individuals facing the crisis of homelessness rebuild their lives.  This year Landlubbers, solo Pirates, Wenches and Pirate Crews (organizations and groups) of all kinds are invited to join the fun. – Put on your pirate hat and get ready!
