St. Augustine Dance Conservatory and the The Perla Ballet will bring the timeless fairytale classic, Cinderella, to life! Show times are 7 p.m. May 28 and 2 p.m. May 29 in Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College, 14 Granada St., downtown St. Augustine. Tickets are available at

Dancing the roles of Cinderella and The Prince are Meghan and Jonathan Chapman who have spent their careers as dancers, teachers, and choreographers. They met while dancing professionally for Ballet Magnificat!, an international touring company out of Jackson, Mississippi. Both have had many opportunities through the years to teach and perform in over 25 countries and all across the United States.

In 2014, they were married and moved to St. Augustine to begin to invest in youth who were aspiring to become professional artists someday.

“Our goal has been to work with young people who truly want to hone their talents to someday begin a career as a unique dancer that has something special to offer the dance world,” Jonathan said.

Meghan Chapman, whose parents graduated from Flagler College, has had a long-time vision of a place where dancers can be challenged through excellent training and high standards, while still caring for the dancers individually and being available to them to work through the tough days that dancers who pursue excellence inevitably go through. Being available to talk through times of doubt, self-consciousness, fatigue and frustration have always been their most precious moments of satisfaction with their students. This spring, the couple has decided to step back into roles as professional dancers and perform for the productions of Cinderella.

With the majesty of classical ballet, this enduring rags-to-princess story offers the promise of “happily ever after,” as well as, a handsome prince, a Fairy Godmother, a wicked stepmother, fairies and more.

Audience members are encouraged to dress up as Cinderella or their favorite princess or fairy and are encouraged to meet the main cast members after the show.
