Cinco de Mayo! The show starts at 5 p.m. with a DJ spinning Latin favorites. Mariachi Garibaldi begins at about 6:20 pm. Then Caribeño Tropical will close the show nonstop from 7:45 pm to 9 pm
It all takes place May 5 at The Gazebo, Plaza de la Constitución, King Street in downtown St. Augustine. Just bring your chairs and dancing shoes.
Caribeño Tropical is a premier 12 piece Latin band from Tampa, FL. playing all types of Latin music, from Salsa to Merengue, Cumbia, Latin Jazz and more. Their professional line-up of musicians includes two singers who deliver romantic ballads as well as the kind of music that makes you want to get up and dance.
Mariachi Garibaldi, also from Tampa, play original music as well as hits by famous Mexican artists like Juan Gabriel, Vicente Fernandez, Jose and others. Their unique sound represents the street style of the old Garibaldi.
Also, the day before Cinco de Mayo, on Saturday May 4, the all-Latin opening weekend also features “Unidos en la Música,” a Latin-American music and cultural festival on Francis Field.
CELEBRATE THE ARTS
The Romanza celebration of music and the arts takes place May 3 through 12 with daily events all over St. Augustine, including 75+ concerts, shows, exhibits, and more. Many events are free. Getting downtown to enjoy your favorite selections should be easy, because events are spread out in mostly smaller to medium-size venues like the churches, and at many different times.
