Meet Terri Gamble, co-owner of The Blue Hen Café, a breakfast and lunch eatery serving up Southern comfort food since February 2013.

Located on Martin Luther King Avenue in the historic Lincolnville neighborhood of St. Augustine, Blue Hen (as it’s known by the locals) has an eclectic menu featuring blue crab quiche, chicken biscuits with gravy and an array of salads and sandwiches.

“My partner, Jeff Sapp, has had great success establishing restaurants in St. Augustine,” says Gamble, age 37.

“It was a no brainer to jump on board and help start something new and exciting with him.”

From pint glass Mimosas and craft beer to homemade desserts, it’s no wonder Blue Hen has become a favorite spot among tourists and locals.

“Jeff and I strive to make good food without fuss in a comfortable and welcoming setting,” Gamble says.

“I’d like to think we just fit in perfectly where we are needed in a community we love.”

Note: The Blue Hen was formerly called Yard Bird Cafe, located at 117 King St., in downtown St. Augustine. When the located moved to 117 Martin Luther King Ave., the name changed to The Blue Hen Café
