Nov. 11: The Veterans Day Grand Parade will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11 along Avenida Menendez in downtown St. Augustine, beginning at the Castillo de San Marcos (fort)., 1 Castillo Drive, downtown St. Augustine. The parade will include veteran and active-duty groups, ROTC units, high school bands, marchers in period dress reflecting the uniforms of all those who have defended the city throughout its long history.

The parade will continue south to turn west onto Cathedral Place and then move north on Cordova Street to finish up at Francis Field.

There also will be a flyover by vintage WWII planes and current military aircraft. Admission is FREE.

 

VETERANS DAY CEREMONY

Nov. 11: St. Augustine Beach will host a Veterans Day memorial ceremony from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11 at the Lakeside Park Veterans Memorial, 2340 A1A South in St. Augustine Beach. The ceremony will include an honor guard, bagpipers, along with special guest speakers and veterans groups. Admission is FREE.

COMPLIMENTARY OLD TOWN TROLLEY RIDES

Nov. 11Old Town Trolley Tours will offer all military (veterans, active-duty, retired, and honorably discharged) complimentary admission on Friday. November 11, 2016. Old Town Trolleys will sponsor service dogs for disabled veterans, donating $1 from every ticket sold on Veterans Day, in partnership with Patriot Service Dogs.

VETERANS DOCUMENTARIES AT CORAZON CINEMA

Nov. 11-13Corazón Cinema & Cafe, 36 Granada St., will show a series of documentaries featuring the stories of local veterans who have served the country, including K9s for Warriors: Unleashing the Underdog, Serve and Protect: Stories of Coquina Crossing World War II Veterans, Prisoners of War: Stolen Freedom, Korea: Forgotten War, Remembered Heroes, and Vietnam: Service, Sacrifice and CourageAdmission is FREE. LEE GREENWOOD — VETERANS BENEFIT CONCERT

Nov. 11: Lee Greenwood will perform a Veterans Benefit Concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13 at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, 1340 A1A South, St. Augustine. This family-friendly patriot concert will benefit local veterans organizations. Go to staugamphitheatre.com for more details.
