Nov. 12: Taste of the Beach features food from local restaurants

The 2017 Taste of the Beach to benefit the Betty Griffin Center will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, November 12 in the Pavilion at the St. Johns County Pier Park, 350 A1A Beach Blvd., St. Augustine Beach.

More than a dozen local restaurants will again compete for bragging rights for the best entree, appetizer and desert on the Island.

Proceeds go to The Betty Griffin Center to support the victims of domestic violence here in our community. The Civic Association wants to thank Steve Cupolo and Coldwell Banker Premier Properties for sponsoring this event.

This years participating restaurants so far include Sunset Grill, The Purple Olive, Amici Italian Restaurant, Salt Life Food Shack, Viola’s Pizza, Pasta & More, Tide’s Oyster Company, BlackFly the Restaurant, Cold Calf Ice Cream and The Grower’s Alliance Coffee Shop and others.

Local band Those Guys will perform during the event.

Patrons will purchase tickets for $1 each and use those tickets for tastes of food and beverages. Items will cost anywhere between one and 4 tickets each. Admission is FREE.

Restaurants will compete for bragging rights and the 12th anniversary etched glassware awards in these categories; Best Appetizer, Best Entree, Best Dessert, Judges Choice, People’s Choice and Best Decorated Booth. Beer, wine and soft drinks will be available for purchase.

The Civic Association thanks the volunteers from the St. Johns Business Network, who will manning the drink stations this year.
