A sustainable gardening series will be offered in October through Putnam County and the University of Florida Extension.
Sessions, which will begin at 2 p.m. Fridays at the Putnam County Ag Center, 111 Yelvington Road, East Palatka, are planned Oct. 9, 16 and 30. Oct. 9 is drip irrigation; Oct. 16 rain barrels; and Oct. 30 compost bin construction. Cost is $5 – $50 for the rain barrel and class; and $70 for compost bin and class.
Nov. 13 drip irrigation is planned.
Discussed at the sessions will be how the varying equipment works, and how to apply it in the landscape. Thereâ€™s a discount if people pay in advance for all of the workshops and kits.
