SAFE home program set for seniors

A SAFE Homes Program continues from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at Haven Hospice Community Room, 2497 U.S. 1 South, when Haven Hospice hosts the Florida Department of Elder Affairs program.

Home-related safety tips will be shared. The workshop presentation will provide education and information on enhancements for safety and accessibility, create conversations about potential changes in the home to improve quality of life, and share information with consumers about local consultants, builders and remodelers in the community.

The goal of the program is to discuss these changes before a crisis occurs or your living space no longer meets your needs and abilities.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will also include topics like Medicare, long-term care insurance,  therapy solutions and aging in place.  Sponsors  include Haven Hospice, Home Instead Senior Care and Nurse On Call. A light lunch will be provided

RSVP before Aug. 13 by calling 904-810-2377.
