Food trucks are all the rage in recent years … and St. Augustine and St. Johns County has a fair share of them offering a wide variety of tasty cuisine.

Here’s the list:

Nalu’s Tropical Takeout

Nalu’s opened in July 2002 and is St. Augustine’s oldest food truck. Nalu’s serves Hawaiian inspired fish tacos and burritos, with fresh ingredients and made-from-scratch sauces. This food truck is located in the parking lot of The Surf Station, near the entrance of Anastasia State Park. Hours are 11 a.m. to sunset daily; closed Tuesdays.

Uptown Scratch Kitchen

Scratch-made bistro food from a truck! Shrimp & grits, fried chicken, burgers and sliders, pork sandwiches, fish and shrimp tacos, and more. The menu changes from week to week depending on what’s in season. Chef Vinny D’Amato creates what he calls “kicked up street food.” Everything is made from scratch when ordered. For quicker pickup, call and order in advance. Hours are 12 to 7 p.m. daily.

Wingin’ It

This food truck offers jumbo chicken wings with 20 different flavors (mild, medium and hot) to choose from including datil mustard, kickin’ sriracha, salt & vinegar, maple BBQ, spicy honey, and others. French fries, a kickin’ chicken sandwich, and the Duke’s pulled pork sandwich also are on the menu.

Pita Pocket

This food truck is new to town … the former location housed PJ’s Hot Dogs. Pita Pockets serves pita sandwiches and traditional Mediterranean favorites such as tabbouli & baba ghannouj (eggplant).

Crave Food Truck

Smoothies, juices, wraps, salads, and sandwiches, with vegan and vegetarian options. This food truck is located in an industrial park, directly on the water, in historic Lincolnville. There are a few tables with shade next to the water. View boats and beautiful views of St. Augustine while having a healthy lunch!

Tropi-Cali Food Truck

Southern Californian and tropically infused fare — rice bowls with jerk chicken or shrimp, burritos, shredded beef and pork plates, Troy’s Datil Chili Supremo (named after owner Troy Blevins), and other options including a 3-pound burrito called the Mamoo. There are plenty of parking spaces on site, and a separate building with tables and air conditioning if you want to stay and eat. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Big Island Bowls

Acai fruit Bowls, smoothies, and healthy drinks. From the facebook page: “Our menu was inspired by our lifestyle in Hawaii, and our desire to share it!” Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Sporks Food Truck

If you see the surf board with a menu, you know Sporks Food Truck is on site. This truck is famous for its sliders: Pork, chicken, crab cakes, and burgers — all on buns, served 3 to a plate. Sides include bacon mac ‘n cheese, cilantro & lime coleslaw, and Costa Rican rice and beans. The menu changes weekly, and the truck parks at different St. Augustine and St. Johns County businesses daily.

S.O.S. Diner

This truck is known for its gourmet-style sandwiches — sliced sirloin roast beef, S.O.S. Reuben, the loaded burger with Angus beef, the fresh catch fish sandwich (blackened yellowfin tuna, mahi, etc.), the chicken club, and the grilled cheese and bacon are on the menu. This truck frequents local businesses such as Ancient City Brewing, Bozard Ford, Davidson Realty.

Miss Mary’s Shaved Ice

Traditional shaved ice with dozens of flavors … and a cotton candy sticky topping, a favorite of locals! This is the perfect place to stop for a frozen treat after the beach.

The Marina Cantina

Fresh local food — Fish and chips, seafood, breakfast specials and more are served daily from this food truck.

Vegan Hot Dog Cart

That’s right! Vegan hot dogs with all sorts of toppings! Owned by James Holloway, the cart caters events at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, Nobby’s on Anastasia Boulevard, and R.B. Hunt Elementary. The Rolling Lunch Box

Tailgater Toby

BBQ (chicken or pork) sandwiches, mac ‘n cheese, slaw, chips, nachos ‘n cheese and more are served from this truck. Tailgater Toby frequents the Nocatee Farmers Market, held on the third Saturday of each month in Ponte Vedra Beach.

Low Tide Food Truck
