Veterans Day Event – CANCELLED due to Hurricane Nicole

November 11: The Veterans Council of St. Johns County invites the public in  Celebrating and Honoring our Veterans-on-Veterans Day. The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday, November 11 at 9:30am at Anastasia Baptist Church, 1650 A1A South in St. Augustine on Anastasia Island. The event will include 40+ Atrium display tables and the Traveling Vietnam and War on Terrorism Walls. Keynote speaker is MG John Haas, FL National Guard. Entertainment is by the St. Augustine High School Chamber Singers. This year we are recognizing all who served in the Global War on Terrorism. FREE admission and free parking on site.

Historic Lincolnville Festival

November 11-13: The Lincolnville Historical Preservation and Restoration Society is hosting the Historic Lincolnville Festival on November 11-13, with three days of musical performances, food, and more. The theme of this year’s event is “Businesses of Yesterday.” This event will happen at the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center and proceeds will go towards restoring and preserving the African American History in Lincolnville. Fun Fest at Bird Island Park

November 12: A Family Fun Fest in Bird Island Park will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, November 12, located behind the Ponte Vedra Beach Library at 101 Library Blvd. It is a rain or shine event. Boy Scout Troops 277 and 297 will be grilling hot dogs and helping children paint bird houses to take home. Horticulturist Keith Fuller will lead adults and children on a scavenger hunt throughout the park. A Queen Bee will be conducting bee keeping lessons. Madam Queen will offer tastes of dollar weed dip, complete with a recipe. Native Plant Consulting will offer tips on planting native plants appropriate for your home garden. Craig O’Neal will give nature photo lessons. Join other artists and do plein air painting throughout the park. Bring your camera or phone to take photos of nature at its best. The Ribault Garden Club will help you “Make & Take” wild flower seed balls for your home garden. This FREE family event is sponsored by the Friends of Bird Island Park.

Moonlight Market

November 12: Presented by Jenna Alexander Studio and Sunday Gathering Table, Moonlight Market invites attendees to spend an evening getting to know local makers throughout Northeast Florida crafting small batch, vintage, handmade, artisan, and up-cycled goods. The event will be from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 at 73 San Marco Avenue in uptown St. Augustine. In addition to the specially curated items perfect for holiday shopping, this event will include food and drink offerings from Sunday Gathering Table, live sketch drawings by Jenna Alexander, and the return of DJ Zach Engh. 

Battle of the Datil benefit event

November 12:  The First Annual Battle of the Datil will be held from 2-9 p.m. Saturday, November 12  from at Tringali Barn at Heritage Farms, located at 7310 US Highway 1 South in St. Augustine. TRU (Truman Capote) at Limelight Theatre

November 17-20: Tru is a 1989 play by Jay Presson Allen, adapted from the words and works of Truman Capote. This special production and collaboration with Limelight Theatre co-founder Jean Rahner, who directs the play, and actor Jan Peter Buksar, who plays Truman Capote. Based on the writings and works of the inimitable 20th century author, this one-man play is written by Jay Presson Allen (1922-2006), a prolific American screenwriter, playwright, stage director, television producer and novelist. Staged in Limelight Theatre’s Koger-Gamache Black Box Theatre, performances are 7:30 p.m. November 17-19; and at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 20. Nights of Pints

November 18-January 1: Locally brewed beer for a cause! The annual Nights of Pints runs Nov. 19 through Jan. 1 at four St. Augustine breweries — Dog Rose Brewing Company, Ancient City Brewing and Jack’s BBQ & Brewery. Coinciding with the City of St. Augustine’s Nights of Lights, the event was started in 2017 by the breweries as a way to give back to nonprofit organizations in the area while enjoying the festivities during the Nights of Lights. A portion of the proceeds will go to local nonprofits. Shirts are $35, available at any of the four breweries, and each shirt comes with a punch card — good for one free pint at each of the breweries from Nov. 19 through January 1. Holly Jolly Shopping Spree

Nights of Lights

November 19-January 31: The 29th annual Nights of Lights opens on Saturday, Nov. 19 during Light-Up Night, an event that includes live music in the Plaza de la Constitucion, between King Street and Cathedral Place in downtown St. Augustine. Light-Up Night is Saturday, November 19 with music starting at 5:30 p.m., and the lighting ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. Each year, former St. Augustine mayors gather to flip the switch during Light Up Night. The City of St. Augustine’s giant tree in the Plaza de la Constitucion is lit first, then all the lights come on surrounding the area. Many families start the holiday season with this tradition — going to dinner downtown and and then watching as the lights are turned on. Lighthouse Illuminations – 20+ themed trees

November 23- January 14: View 20+ uniquely decorated trees, each with a distinct theme, at this special after-hours event at the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum — in the historic buildings, throughout the grounds, and in the lighthouse tower! Gullah Geechee Heritage Festival 

December 3: Presented by the SEA Community Help Resource Center, Inc. and the St. Johns Cultural Council, the Gullah Geechee Heritage Festival will take place from noon to 5 p.m. at Armstrong Park,4950 Harvey Avenue, Elkton, Florida. The event will include music, dance, traditional foods, and craft celebrating 450 years of West African influence in St. Johns County. Performers include the Geechee Gullah Ring Shouters, Nan Nkama African Drum & Dance Ensemble, Doug Carn, and Amy Alysia & the Soul Operation.Special guest Chef Matthew Raiford, author of Bress ‘n’ Nyam, presents a cooking demonstration and book signing. December 3: Join Historic Florida Militia for activities depicting 18th Century culture and lifestyles of the Spanish, British, and French. The colonial militia and Native American military arts will be on the grounds of the Oldest House Museum Complex, 271 Charlotte St., and the Castillo de San Marcos, 1 S. Castillo Dr. The St. Augustine Colonial Night Watch Torchlight Parade will begin at 7 p.m. December 3, starting at the north end of Saint George Street at the City Gate and ending at the Governor’s House Cultural Center & Museum, 48 King St., St. Augustine.

Holiday Hallelujah Chorus 

December 3-4: Something new is coming to the Old City! The Holiday Hallelujah Chorus will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, December 3; and 2 p.m. Sunday, December 4 in Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College, 14 Granada St., downtown St. Augustine. In partnership with Limelight Theatre, musical director Jeff Dodd has assembled a chorus of more than 100 singers who performed in his choirs during his 35-year tenure as a performing arts educator at St. Augustine High School. Jeff will lead his past students, who are returning from near and far, in an inspiring concert of traditional, nostalgic and festive music that is sure to be a highlight of your holiday season! Festival of Trees at Lightner Museum 

December 5-8: The 2nd Annual Festival of Trees will be December 5-8 at Lightner Museum, a benefit event for St. Francis House & Port in the Storm. The event will feature a silent auction that includes themed trees and wreaths decorated by community businesses and sponsors. St Francis House envisions a future in which all those in St. Johns County have a safe, permanent place to call home. Our housing focused programs provide temporary shelter, basic needs, and case management services for youth, individuals and families. 

Luminary Night at the St. Augustine Lighthouse

December 7: Luminary Night is an annual tradition hosted by the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum. From 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, the Museum grounds will open for an evening celebration for all ages. During the event, the Museum offers luminaries throughout the grounds, visits with Santa, children’s activities and holiday crafts, yuletide refreshments and live music. FREE admission and parking! The Dance Company’s Winter Spectacular

December 10-11:  Experience the magic and excitement of the holidays at the 9th Annual St. Augustine Winter Spectacular! Directed by Stephanie Burkhardt, Executive Artistic Director of The Dance Company, this production will kick-off the holiday season in the nation’s oldest city with over 100 live performers. Regatta of Lights – Boat Parade

December 10: Watch the brilliant displays of brightly lit boats pass by the bayfront during the annual Regatta of Lights boat parade, hosted by the St. Augustine Yacht Club. Gainesville Orchestra Holiday Concert

December 14: EMMA Concert Association presents the annual holiday concert with the Gainesville Orchestra on Wednesday, December 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College. Venardos Circus

Tour the circa 1798 Ximenez-Fatio House Museum

Daily: Located on the oldest street in America, the Ximenez-Fatio House Museum was built in 1798 by and Spanish merchant and his Minorcan wife. The house was then owned and run by women throughout the 1800s as a boarding house. Self-guided audio tours and guided tours are available Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Step back in time when you stroll through the historic house, detached colonial kitchen, gardens and grounds.
