From the St. Augustine Art Association
The St. Augustine Art Association in partnership with the Center for Spiritual Living will feature a special solo retrospective of works by the late Katherine E. Parker June 6 through July 6, in the Marguerita Phillips Gallery at 22 Marine Street.
Parker lived and worked in St. Augustine for 30 years and produced art until her untimely death in August 2004. Â She developed a unique technique creating monotype serigraph silkscreens overlaid with gouache, pencil and gold leaf. Â Her joyful style that celebrates nature and the female experience was also expressed in oil pastels.
A long time member of the Florida Artists Group and the St. Augustine Art Association, Parker was a nationally recognized artist who won hundreds of awards during her prolific career.
Parker’s personal collection was posthumously donated to the Center for Spiritual Living. The original works in the exhibit are being offered for sale.  Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday and 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.  Admission is free.
