Two local girls share lead role in Miracle on 34th Street at Limelight Theatre

St. Augustine, FL — Limelight Theatre announces the cast of Miracle on 34th Street The Musical, on the Matuza Main Stage Dec. 5, 2014 through Jan. 4, 2015.

 

Gracia Romaine, age 9, and McKenna “Mack” Hazel, age 11, are double cast as Susan Walker, the 6-year-old little girl who has doubts about childhood’s most enduring miracle — Santa Claus.

 

Other cast members include Maria Helfrich as Doris Walker; Jonathan Leonard as Fred Gaily; Don Runk as Kris Kringle; Micah Laird as Marvin Shellhammer; James Desmond as R.H. Macy; Rich Nowell as Mr. Sawyer/Tammy O’Halloran; Shannon Holder as Miss Crookshank; Ben LaBonne as a Marine; Chase Lawless as Thomas Mara DA/baliff/policeman; Cathy Swann as a nurse/Mrs. Finfer; David Williams as drunk Santa/Judge; Ashley Herbert as Henrika and children’s ensemble; Alison Zador as Dutch girl’s mother; Will Gooden as Henry Finfer and children’s ensemble; Alexander Lawless Tommy Mara and children’s ensemble; and Caragh Zeigler; Natalie Thompson, Savannah Lawless as children’s ensemble.

 

Miracle on 34th Street The Musical is based on the movie of the same name, with book and score by Meredith Willson. The story takes place between Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day in New York City, and focuses on the impact of a department store Santa Claus who claims to be the real Santa. The musical brings songs and dancing to this perennial Christmas favorite.

 

The show is directed by Shelli Long, with musical direction also by Long and a live band for each show; choreography by Madi Mack and costumes by Lorraine Rokovitz.

 

Tickets are $25 per person, with a free child’s ticket available with a full price adult ticket. Limelight Theatre is located at 11 Old Mission Ave in uptown St. Augustine. Free parking is available.

 

Show times are 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. Opening night is Friday, Dec. 5 and includes champagne toast and meet-the-cast following the show. Children in the show will sign autographs after each performance. No show on Christmas Day or New Year’s Eve.
