First Coast Opera, northeast Florida’s professional opera company presents its ongoing series of artist tributes with An Evening of Arias: Gala Fundraiser! Featuring the music of Jeanette MacDonald & Nelson Eddy at 6 p.m. April 10 at the Marsh Creek Country Club.
Join us as we celebrate the careers of soprano Jeanette MacDonald and baritone Nelson Eddy. The pair starred in tuneful movies from the 1930s including Naughty Marietta, Rose Marie, and The New Moon, which featured popular music by Victor Herbert, Rudolf Friml, and Sigmund Romberg. MacDonald and Eddy also enjoyed successful careers in opera and musical theater, as well as radio and early television.
Our annual fundraiser features heavy hors d’oeuvres prepared by the Marsh Creek Country Club chef, a silent auction, and performances by First Coast Opera guest artists.
