St. Augustine, FL — Apex Theatre Studio will present the off-Broadway hit musical Ride The Cyclone. The show will run in Apex’s black box theatre in St. Augustine March 3-6 and at Guliford Hall at Adele Grage Community Center in Atlantic Beach March 9-10. In this hilarious and outlandish story, the lives of six teenagers from a Canadian chamber choir are cut short in a freak accident aboard a roller coaster. When they awake in limbo, a mechanical fortune teller invites each to tell a story to win a prize like no other — the chance to return to life.
The show is a funny, moving look at what makes a life well-lived. Vulture declares the show “both eerie and funny, as well as subversive, serious, touching, and great.”
The production is under the direction of guest director Nick Case, a graduate of Penn State University’s Musical Theatre program. The musical direction is led by Joshua Sewell with choreography by Laura Frye.
The cast features a mixture of Duval and St. Johns County students, including Haiden Matthews, Oliva DeMaio, DJ DeJesus, Miles Melanson, Owen Betancourt, Ruby Simmons, Emily Gonzalez and George Eastman.
Running time is 80 minutes. For tickets and information to go www.apextheatrejax.com/events. The show is rated PG-13 for mature language.
