EMMA Concert Association announces 47th season of music and dance

From composer John Williams to A Midsummer Night’s Dream ballet, the new season celebrates modern and classical music

All events take place at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida

ST. AUGUSTINE, FL – EMMA Concert Association announces its 47th season of music and dance — bringing high quality music and dance groups from throughout the country to the nation’s oldest city — St. Augustine, Florida.

All season concerts take place in Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College, 14 Granada Street, in downtown St. Augustine, Florida. Free parking is available at the St. Johns County Council on Aging, with a complimentary shuttle to and from the venue.

THE LINEUP

Voctave (a cappella group) — The Corner of Broadway and Main Street

October 11, 2025 at 7:30 p.m.

Voctave is a dynamic 11-member a cappella group hailing from Central Florida, renowned for their intricate and captivating vocal arrangements. The group will be performing tunes from their latest album, “The Corner of Broadway and Main Street,” which features 14 musical pieces. Founded in the winter of 2015 by esteemed producer and arranger Jamey Ray, Voctave brings together a rich tapestry of musical backgrounds. The group’s members have performed globally and contributed to numerous recordings, showcasing their versatile talent.

The Gainesville Orchestra Holiday Pops

December 16, 2025 at 7:30 p.m.

Gainesville, Florida’s only professional orchestra, founded in 1983. The 100+ musician symphony performs throughout Florida, with programs that include classical and contemporary music. The Holiday Pops program will feature favorite holiday tunes, professional singers and a sing-a-long portion that invites the audience to join in with the festive music.

Neil Berg’s The 70s

January 17, 2026 at 7:30 p.m.

Neil Berg’s “The 70’s: Long Live Rock n’ Roll” is a concert that celebrates the iconic music and stories of the 1970s.

South Carolina Ballet — A Midsummer Night’s Dream

January 24, 2026 at 7:30 p.m.

South Carolina Ballet invites you to experience the shimmering world of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, celebrating the 200th anniversary of Felix Mendelssohn’s iconic score. This production brings Shakespeare’s beloved comedy to life through a blend of dance and music, transporting audiences to a fantastical world where love, magic, and mischief intertwine. Set in an enchanted forest, the ballet follows the adventures of four young lovers and a group of amateur actors who become entangled in the whimsical disputes of the forest king and queen, Oberon and Titania.

Jacksonville Symphony — The Music of John Williams

March 8, 2026 at 2 p.m.

The Jacksonville Symphony pays tribute to Williams’ cinematic music with award-winning classics from Star Wars, Superman, Schindler’s List, Jaws, Indiana Jones and more.

Chicago Tap Theatre

April 25, 2026 at 7:30 p.m.

The Chicago Tap Theatre’s mission is to share the creativity, history and joy of tap dance. Chicago Tap Theatre is a dance company based in Chicago that celebrates tap dance through performance, education, and community engagement. They are known for their high-quality tap dance and live music performances, as well as their educational programming that aims to make tap accessible to all. The company’s mission is to preserve and promote tap dance as a vital art form.

ABOUT EMMA

Started by a small group of music lovers in 1979, the organization was named after Spanish cellist Emil Maestre, who retired to St. Augustine, Florida. EMMA has always been a nonprofit, all-volunteers organization with a mission to produce quality music and dance performances at modest ticket prices.

EMMA gives back to the community with music scholarships for college students and grants for music instructors, students and community music groups.
