Fall 2020 Farm Events in St. Johns, Putnam and Green Cove Springs

It’s fall and time to visit area farms for pumpkin picking, crop mazes, and good ‘ole fashioned family fun! Here’s a round-up of 2020 events in St. Johns County, Putnam County and Green Cove Springs: 

ST. JOHNS COUNTY

Wesley Wells Farms – Farm Days

Oct. 10-Nov. 21: Wesley Wells Farms, 2680 Ada Arnold Rd, St. Augustine, FL 32092, will hold Family Fun Days on the farm from 9 AM to 5 PM every Saturday. Cost is $5 per person. 
Experience harvesting your own superfood — leaves from a Moringa grove; help yourself to the you-pick vegetable patch, visit farm animals, plant seeds in to-go cups to transplant in your own garden, try delicious pumpkin flavored foods, shop in the country store, and so much more!
The $5 admission includes entrance to the farm, farm strolls, farm animals, farm equipment from then and now, farming history of the Wells family, make-and-take seed station, scavenger hunt, picture spots, and our favorite corn box!
Ask about workshops and family photo opportunities. Workshops will include wreath making, pallet signs, a bouquet bar, u-pick produce and recipe sharing.
Location: This is one of our lesser-known farm entrances. Put the address into your phone and come to the far corner of the farm for some fun.

The Maze at Sykes Family Farms

Oct. 3-25: Nine acres of a local farm becomes THE MAZE at Sykes Family Farm each year — with live music, the maze, games, sunflowers, pumpkins, live animals and more at 5995 Brough Road in Elkton, just off State Road 207. Hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Fridays; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays. Cost is $13 for ages 3 to 64; $11 for seniors and military with ID; and free for ages 2 and younger. Cracker Day at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds

Oct. 17: The St. Johns County Cattlemen’s Association will host the 61st annual Cracker Day at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds featuring horse games and food, including barbecue, and a Farmers Market with local vendors. Cracker Day celebrates cracker horses and cracker cattle, which were brought to the area by the Spanish. “Cracker” also refers to a cowboy who uses a whip to round up cattle, which makes a cracking sound when used. Gates open at 6 a.m., and the event is from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission is $5 (cash only). Registration to compete in the horse games ranges from $5-$15. PUTNAM COUNTY

Farm Dayz – Crop Maze & Pumpkin Patch

Oct. 10-11, Oct. 17, Oct. 24-25: Farm Dayz is located just an hour from St. Augustine at932 Coral Farms Road  Florahome FL 32140. Cost is  $6 person (3 & under free) CASH ONLY. Stroll through two crop mazes, a pumpkin patch, take a hay ride, play corn hole, and enjoy the photo prop area. Food and other vendors will be available. Enjoy family time on a beautiful farm, walk the mazes, and buy some pumpkins. 

  • October 10-11 — 10am-6pm
  • October 17, October 18 & October 24 — 10am-9pm
  • October 25 —10am-6pm (Halloween Costume Contest with Prizes!)

GREEN COVE SPRINGS

Amazing Grace Family Farms

Fridays & Saturday through Oct. 31: Amazing Grace Family Farms in located in Green Cove Springs, 2899 Wisteria Farm Rd Green Cove Springs, FL 32043. Enjoy the pumpkin patch, corn maze, jump pad, playground, photo ops, tug-o-war, barnyard ball zone, and farm animals. Visit www.agcropmaze.com

Elrod Acres

Oct. 17, Oct. 24, Nov. 7 , Nov. 21: Elrod Acres is a small farm near Penney Farms located at 3846 SR 16 West, Green Cove Springs, FL. The Cracker House is open seasonally and stocked with homemade jams, cane syrup, honey, antiques and gifts. Items may include Muscadine Grape Jam, Peach Jam, Strawberry Jam, Pear Relish and an assortment of Pickled Peppers. Christmas preview begins October 17. Call 904-699-6764
