Local singer-songwriter Amy Hendrickson is recording a collaborative album called Local Honey, and has created a Kickstarter campaign in hopes raise $16,000 for the album costs.
“Each local artist listed below has inspired me, helped me on my journey and at times kept me sane. Using the medium of music and film, I want to help spread the fire for our local original music while simultaneously showing what a diverse music scene we have,” Hendrickson said.
Local Honey will be recorded with 15 local musicians during the week of Oct. 6-10 on location at the Rodman Plantation in Palatka, Fla. The plantation is a five-bedroom ranch house hidden in 6,000 acres of Florida woods that was once owned by Hendrickson’s great grandparents, Vella and Woody Tilton.
“My Grandma Judy grew up in this house. Needless to say, it is a very special place to my family and me,” Hendrickson said.
Focusing on singer-songwriters, Hendrickson wants to keep it simple.

Local sound guru Bill Parker, owner of Toes in the Sand Production, will record Local Honey.
“Bill has been working in this city and scene for more than three decades. When it comes to sound, he is the man,” Hendrickson said.
Hendrickson performs at area festivals and in local venues including Rhett’s Piano Bar and the Colonial Quarter’s Bull & Crown.
“The ultimate goal would be to make this project so successful that we can send our documentary to film festivals and have our story and music reach as many people as possible,” Hendrickson said.
“This is going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity for players from all over our city, spanning generations and genres — coming together to create something unique and beautiful!”
