May 6-May 14: Pie in the Sky For the Birds Fundraiser Finale — feeding low income seniors

Pie in the Sky Community Alliance, a local non-profit that delivers fresh produce to the homes of 500 low-income seniors throughout St. Johns County, is hosting its annual fundraiser called For the Birds — The Finale. This event has been held for 12 years but organizers say they are retiring the event after this year.

The fundraiser features 78 local artist-created birdhouses that will be auctioned off in an online auction to raise funds for the Senior Produce Program. Visit www.pieintheskystjohns.org to bid on the birdhouses.

The bird houses also can be viewed in person at First Friday ArtWalk from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 6 at the Pie in the Sky warehouse, located at 134 Riberia St., in downtown St. Augustine.

“Our local artists have been so generous with their time and talent for so many years and we are so grateful for all they have done to help our seniors in need over the last decade,” said Pie in the Sky Director, Malea Guiriba.

“We will be celebrating all of the artists contributors during First Friday Artwalk to show our appreciation for the gifts of their artistry.”

There will be music from The Ukuladies and light refreshments will be served.

On May 14, pies and posies will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 14 at the warehouse. Through May 9, Southern Horticulture will donate the posies with the online order. A Pie and Posie can be ordered online at: pieintheskystjohns.charityproud.org/EventRegistration/Index/8430

The May 14 event will also feature music from The Thick and Thin String Band and light refreshments.

All proceeds will go towards the Senior Produce Program. For more information, call 904-217-4863.
